Technology gives us the advantage to have access to a lot of resources on our cellphones. There are a lot of apps that could help us improve or just practice our English. I believe that there is not a perfect app, just like humans, they all have some mistakes but, they are still useful.
These are my top 5 apps to practice depending on your level and your necessities.
1. Color Verbs
This application provides a list of irregular verbs. The amazing part of this app is that each verb has a picture, a definition, audio to check pronunciation and even examples.
So, if you are struggling with the verbs this is an app that could help you.
2. English Exercises
This application has a wide variety of English grammar exercises. It is good if you want to practice because you can do exercises on different topics such as pronouns, articles, conditionals, tenses, etc. All the exercises come with the answers, but it is really important to mention that this app has its flaws. Some corrections or some answers are not correct, but you can give it a try.
3. English Listening
Listening is an essential skill in English. This app could help you with it. It has different voices and the conversations are slow so the listening should be easier. If you have difficulties understanding English when you listen to it this app might be for you. It is important to mention that this app doesn’t work 100%, some audios are not good, but some of them are really useful.
4. Infinite TOEFL
This application is for advanced students or if you are planning on presenting the TOEFL. In this app you can practice your speaking, listening, writing, and reading abilities. If you want to practice your reading comprehension it is an excellent tool for you then. It also could help with getting familiarized with the format of the test.
5. English Stories
If you enjoy reading, this app is for you. You can read or you can listen to short stories in English and this will help you improve your vocabulary and listening skills. It has a good variety of stories and the vocabulary that you will find it’s not difficult to understand.
